I have Earthlink DSL, Charter Cable and Verizon Landline. I am concerned about having 6 boxes, one for each TV. Does anyone use the Verizon TV? I am concerned about changing my email address also. Thanks

I was recently searching for info on this myself. I wanted high speed internet, phone, and hd cable. I was paying $159.00 a month for Comcast Triple Play.

AT&T wanted too many up front fees.

The best deal I found was Verizon with direct tv. No money up front (with credit approval), and $99.00 a month for 200 satellite channels, unlimited local and long distance phone service, high speed dsl internet service. The only thing I have to pay extra is for the modem. Its 34.99 and they split it up into four $11.00 charges on my 2nd 3rd and 4th bill. How awesome is that??

(May or may not pay $5.00 more per month for high def. I am not sure if it is for HD or DVR??)

Only downside is the dish on my house. But it is $55.00 cheaper per month than I was paying at Comcast!

media could be anything from radio, tv, internet, iPod, cell phones, movies, books

I think it has made society as a whole less sensitive to violence, especially the visual. In my parents day (WWII etc) it was simply not done to expose children to any graphic details – children were told the bare minimum in an effort to protect their innocence. There is a lot my parents would not discuss with us, even as adults. Children today have to cope with daily doses of the visual (I think overdone) – It must have some influence on their personnas.

I believe in general society has become more anxious with daily news portraying non-stop disasters; global warming, pollution, wars, famines, etc. where as in the past they were much more ignorant of the scope of these, and generally would lead more carefree, live for the moment, and relaxed type lives. They were more “down to earth.”

Having such items as internet, cell phones, etc. has given people the opportunity to have almost instantaneous answers to their questions, so maybe they are less inclined to give more thought to their own feelings and opinions, and likely to be more influenced by the media. I think they may actually read and write less than in the past as spelling (generally) seems to be of a poorer standard.

I don’t mean to be critical – Just my impressions.
